Stephen Ferry is a Colombian-based photographer from the US. Over the last 20 years, he has been photographing Latin American culture, society, and politics and is currently working on the long-term struggle in Colombia. His recent series, Tayrona: Territory, Culture, and Climate Change focuses on an environmental message from one of the oldest civilizations on Earth, the Mamos, from the Sierra Nevada mountain range in northern Colombia.
We are working with Stephen to produce an exhibition that will travel to museums around the world.
Ancestral Vision is an exhibition created and developed by the Zhigoneshi Communication Center to present, through writing and photography, the ancestral thoughts on the territorial organization of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta in Northern Colombia. The communication center is composed of individuals from the three of the four indigenous groups known collectively as the Tayrona peoples; they are the Arhuaco, Kogi, and Wiwa. In Ancestral Vision, these indigenous communities have come together to inform the outside world about their natural, cultural territory and to establish links of alliance for its preservation.
We are working with the the Zhigoneshi Communication Center to bring their exhibit to schools all over Colombia.
