  • John Piscatella is a poet from southern California. His poem book included more than 80 poems in English that were translated into Spanish with the following results: "When I first began writing poetry, I was weaned on the incredible poetry of Pablo Neruda. I was told at the time by an Argentinean friend that if I thought his poetry was amazing in English, it doesn't even come close to how beautiful it is in Spanish. With that thought in mind, I asked Carolina Montejo to translate two of my poems to Spanish and then proceeded to get feedback from my professional Spanish speaking friends as to the quality of the translation and how closely it remained true to my meaning and intent. I was so overwhelmed by the positive feedback and the general consensus that Carolina's translation was "perfect", that I had her translate all eighty-three poems. Throughout this very difficult process, Carolina was every bit the consummate professional, always completing her work in a timely fashion and always remaining true to my work. The festival brought together 25 artists from around the world and was presented in ThisIsNotAGallery in BsAs. This project included a wide range of services including curatorial, organizational development, design (web, print, and logo), events, translation, and publicity.
